Providing a full spectrum of training for
biomanufacturing and pharmaceutical production
Process Engineers participate in the design, installation, validation, start-up, operation, maintenance, or ongoing improvement of biomanufacturing and pharmaceutical manufacturing processes. A BS degree in chemical engineering is typically required, although some firms hire graduates from other engineering disciplines. View video about engineers.
Additional education and training, such as the courses offered at NC State University leading to an undergraduate certificate, minor, or post-baccalaureate certificate in biomanufacturing is often desired along with some experience. Example short courses offered at NC State include Bioreactors for Cell Culture, Fermentation Engineering, and Downstream Biopharmaceutical Process Development.
