Undergraduate Degree Programs

A number of jobs in biomanufacturing such as research scientist and engineer require at least a four-year degree.  This page focuses primarily on degrees or minors specifically related to biotechnology.

You may also want to check degrees in microbiology, chemical engineering, biochemistry, food science and other areas and supplement those with the minor in biomanufacturing at the NC State University BTEC program.

BTEC at NC State University has a simulated-cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practice) facility, where you can get hands-on experience in the production of high-value biomolecules.  See the courses available at BTEC.

BTEC also offers degree and non-degree options for students and professionals from an undergraduate certificate program to a minor in biomanufacturing to a Post- Baccalaureate Certificate

Individuals can earn a B.S. in Pharmaceutical Sciences at NC Central University through the Biomanufacturing Research Institute and Technology Enterprises (BRITE) program.

Students can concentrate in bioanalytical chemistry, protein separation sciences or molecular cloning at BRITE.  Check out the undergraduate curriculum and course descriptions.
